This chess board is a rare and unique piece of art from the ever-influential Marcel Duchamp. It’s unknown when he created it, but there are signatures as well as address stamps on its tag that date back to later periods (1967 – 1972). It is imprinted with signature and address ‘MARCEL DUCHAMP 11 RUE LARREY PARIS (5e) France’. 

This piece is made up of sixty-four wooden squares nailed and glued to plywood and measures roughly 27 1/2 × 27 1/2 inches. (Size: 70 x 70 cm.) There is no chess pieces included.
